After completing an extensive recruitment process, the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie is very pleased to announce the hiring of their new CAO - Sylvia Kirkwood.
Ms. Kirkwood comes to the Municipality with over 27 years of progressive municipal service, with her most recent position as the Chief Planner/Director of Planning with the Town of Caledon in the Region of Peel. Mayor Steve Hammell stated “on behalf of Council, I would like to welcome Sylvia to our Arran-Elderslie team. Her Leadership, knowledge and strong work ethic was evident during the recruitment process and we look forward to Sylvia leading our team as our Chief Administrative Officer.”
She is excited to build upon and implement key recommendations from some of the Municipality’s recently released strategic studies and master plans.
Focusing on the future, she will continue to move Arran-Elderslie forward with her positive and collaborative approach. “I am very honoured to be part of this great team and to begin working with the Mayor and Council to learn and share ideas to support the residents and businesses of this vibrant community”, says Ms. Kirkwood.
Her official start date is May 25, 2021.
