Chesley and Tara’s New Municipal Logos
Results Are In
The passion and care for our communities was evident as we received 448 votes on the new logo designs for Chesley and Tara. The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie thanks everyone who participated by voting or sharing feedback.
Results of the vote indicated a clear winner for both the Chesley and Tara logos. After a meaningful review of all comments received, minor modifications to the final logos have been made to represent valuable community insights.
Chesley’s Logo
Option #2 was the majority winner.
Based on feedback, we modified the Chesley logo by switching the barn with a residential/commercial building, as the agricultural element is already represented with the wheat and the swan was added.
Tara’s Logo
Option #1 was the majority winner.
Based on feedback, the Tara logo was modified to replace the trees with the iconic harp, tweak the building to look more like the post office, and alter the shade of green for ‘Tara’ to be closer to the historic, shamrock green.
Steps Involved in Branding Our Communities
The municipality is in the process of developing community brands for the communities of Chelsey and Tara that aim to complement Paisley’s existing brand, bringing together a cohesive look for our municipality. To encourage community engagement in this process, an online vote was held between February 28 and March 10, that asked the community to choose between the two final logo designs for each community, two options for Tara and two options for Chesley. Initial designs were developed from feedback gathered from the community, staff, and council.
Next Steps
The final logos are one piece of each community’s brand toolkit which will become a guiding marketing document for the municipality, Bruce County, and community organizations. The guide will include additional graphics elements, such as Big Bruce, that can be used when implementing marketing initiatives and infrastructure within the communities. The community brand will lead to a cohesive and coordinated approach and showcase a sense of place for residents and visitors.
